“I can manage. I should have it done in thirty minutes. Will that give you enough time to finish doing whatever you need to do?”

“Yeah, that’ll be good.”

I rock back on my heels. “Sounds good.” I turn, walking back to the house.

I look over my shoulder to give myself one more glance at forbidden fruit, but what I see makes my heart skip a beat. There is no mistaking the fact that Mick’s checking out my ass.

Swinging my hips a little more purposefully, I head toward the house with a smile on my face.

Things just got a bit more interesting.

Mick

I letmyself in through the mudroom, slipping off my boots. My body’s sore, but I feel a sense of pride knowing that Shane would be warm. Because of me.

Peeking around the corner, I can’t help but smile when I see Shane shaking her ass to the beat of the music, using the spatula as a microphone, while waiting to flip the pancake on the griddle. I watch her for a moment, enjoying her energy before backing away.

As quietly as possible, I slip upstairs to the room I’m staying in. I rest against the door, trying to get the image of Shane out of my head. With the way her shirt clung to her chest, I could see the outline of her nipples. Her legs encased in skintight leggings that did wonders for her ass. I can’t help but groan, rubbing my face. Pushing off the door, I walk into the bathroom and flip on the shower.

Leaning against the counter, I look at myself in the mirror. I’m being ridiculous. I’ve already showered for the day, but I’m sweaty. I know I’m going to go back out and get sweaty again, but that doesn’t stop me from stripping and getting into the shower. For some reason, I don’t want to sit at her table smelling of sweat.

This is dangerous territory for me. Worrying about what she thinks of me is tipping more toward liking this girl.

Fuck. I like this girl.

One thought leads to another.

Seeing her topless in front of the window.

I groan, squeezing my cock. “Down boy.”

I shake my thoughts, turning the shower ice cold and rush through my second shower of the day.

Once out of the shower, I throw on another pair of work clothes and head downstairs. At the bottom of the stairs, I hear Shane and Josh talking. As soon as I cross the threshold into the kitchen, Shane looks up.

“Right on time.” She smirks, sliding a plate my way. “Help yourself.”

“Thank you,” I tell her as I turn to Striker. “You get what we need in town?”

He nods, taking a drink of orange juice. “Yeah. I had to order a few things, but they will be in about mid-week.”

“Sounds good.”

“How did you sleep?” Shane asks, taking a bite of bacon.

I watch the way her lips wrap around the bacon and have to bite back a groan.

What the hell is it about her that turns me on?

“Good,” I tell her again, oblivious to the fact that she aimed the question at Striker.

She gives me a small smile before looking at Striker, her brow raised.

“It was okay.” He shrugs.

“I don’t understand why you didn’t just sleep above the barn.” She shakes her head.
