I drift through the day, making sure everysinglething is just the way it’s supposed to be. They cleared a path through the tall grass that winds from the back of the house down to the clearing where we held the spring bonfire last night that kicked off the festivities.

The aisle isn’t straight. It curves gently like a mountain trail, and that feels perfect for the occasion. No part of our story has been a straight line. The chairs are mismatched. Some are borrowed and others brought in by club families. But every single one is full.

When the time comes, I slide into that godforsaken custom-made suit of mine one more time and walk to the place where we’ll say our vows.

I stand patiently, waiting for Heather to make her appearance.

Tusk leans in beside me, his voice pitched low so as not to carry.

“You ready to see your blushing bride walk down the aisle to marry you?”

I don’t look at him, but my voice is steady. “I’ve never been more ready for anything in my life.”

Tusk nods once, grinning. “Good,” he says. “Because here she comes.”

I glance down the aisle and there she is, stepping into view in all her glory. Her arm’s looped through Siege’s, her other hand is resting gently on her belly. The dress she’s wearing hugs her beautiful form. It’s white and simple, strapless, with that necklace I gave her earlier catching the sun and dragging every eye to the hollow of her throat.

But I don’t care that every man here is looking at her because she’s walking towards me and she’s carrying our child.I amthe luckiest man alive today. I’m getting a beautiful wife who loves me for me and a son to raise as my own.
