Hardin stepped forward before she got to the arbor, taking her from Stowe. “God, baby, you’re stunning,” he said, his voice rough with emotion, wiping the tears from his eyes and capturing her lips.
His kiss was soul-searing, leaving her breathless, and had everyone tittering. They broke apart only after the minister cleared his throat loudly.
“Oops.” Mac laughed up at him, brushing both of their tears from her cheeks.
His eyes sparkled. “I love you so much.”
“I love you forever,” she whispered.
Hardin moved to embrace her again, but the minister interrupted. “Can we begin?”
Mac and Hardin nodded.
“Please face one another and hold hands.”
Mac looked into Hardin’s eyes, into his soul. They were filled with tears and love. He wiped at them again and smiled. She clasped his hands, intertwining her fingers with his, eager for their future to begin.
