This time no one makes a move to stop us and if she doesn’t give us the answer, I’ll torture her until she does.
“Charlie…” She gasps, “Charlie has her.”
“Where did you take her to?” Zander demands his phone already out and dialing his parents.
Sebastian grabs his laptop, ready to get maps and blueprints up and Tobias starts pulling the weapons out of the safe we have in every room.
“The safe house in Pinal Peak.”
“Get out,” Brenn demands grabbing her arm and dragging her from the room, all of us following.
“Please don’t do this, I love you both. I’m sorry, I want to help,” Ellie begs, her pleading eyes bouncing between Shan and Brenn.
“Leave Ellie. I don’t ever want to see you again,” Brenn says, before turning his back to her and striding away.
Ellie takes a shaky step towards Shan, her hand outstretched to her, but Shan sidesteps it.
“Shan, please. I did it to protect you,” She cries.
“You hurt my friend Ellie. You could have told us, came up with a different plan but you gave her back to her abuser, her monster. Brenn’s right, I don’t want to see you again.”
“I’m sorry.”
“It’s not good enough,” Shan says solemnly, following Brenn further into the house.
We all stare down a sobbing Ellie as she holds herself as she cries.
“They’re right. Leave before I do something I won’t regret,” I warn, my knife twirling in my hand the blood from her neck still coating it.
She wastes no time fleeing from the house, my feet automatically try to follow her, to hunt her down and kill her.
“She’s going to be ok. We’ll get her back and she’ll be fine,” I mumble as Tobias drags me through the house to the safe room.
“I hope so because I don’t know how she’ll survive this if we don’t.”
To be continued…
