Hermes scratched her ears, looking up at him.

“Ambrosia.”

Wilder blinked. “From Hebe?”

Biting his lip to hide a sneaky grin, Hermes tilted his head back and forth. “Well, she had some extra sitting around.”

“You stole it?”

Hermes shrugged, dropping the bit in her bowl and wiping his hand on his pants. “It’s part of my brand, you know. God of thieves.Andmerchants. Sometimes I, like, pay for shit. Sometimes.”

“But this, you stole,” Wilder confirmed. He had a charming little furrow between his brows. “For Melly?”

With a swallow, Hermes glanced down to where she’d wound between his legs. She was purring. He wasn’t sure what kind of appeal ambrosia had for cats, but even a little nibble would probably get the job done. She wasn’t very big.

“Well, yeah,” Hermes agreed. “She’s your baby, right? If you’re stuck here forever, there’s a whole lot you’re gonna have to say bye to. But maybe not everything. Maybe not Melly.”

Maybe not me, Hermes thought hopefully.

He didn’t have to say the words aloud before Wilder swooped in, his molten hand cupping the back of Hermes’s neck as he dove in and claimed his mouth. His kiss was searing, his tongue delving in and leaving no quarter, and Hermes wondered if he’d still be able to keep up with Wilder now that ichor flowed in his veins too.

“You are an incredible pain in the ass,” Wilder muttered against his lips.

Hermes smiled, warmth suffusing every inch of his body as he pressed into Professor Pratt. “And you, sweetheart,” he whispered back, “might just be incredible.”
