I don’t feel very beautiful right now.
But I’m happy.
“I’m glad he has you as a role model, Gio. I mean it.”
He kisses my cheek softly. “I love you. I love our son. I can’t tell you how blessed I feel to have a child with you.”
I know the sleepless nights and endless diapers will be hard. There’ll be tears and tantrums, mess and anxiety. But there’ll be fun, too, and joy, and so much love.
Endless, boundless love.
And pastries too. So many pastries.
Nine and a half pounds, though.
