I gave her a look that should have made her sink to her knees and beg forgiveness, but for some stupid reason it only made her start laughing again.
“Why did I bother?” I asked.
“I don’t know. All you had to do was tell me that it truly bothered you to see me on stage, and I would have never done it again.”
“I did tell you that,” I growled.
She shook her head. “No, you always bitched about it, snatched me up like a caveman, and brought me to my office to fuck the fight out of me. I thought it was a game we were playing.”
“Oh, for fuck’s sake!” I yelled and went to take a seat on the couch only to have that simple movement light my ass up. Fire and pain. “It fucking burns!”
“Should I call 9-1-1- yet?” Trinity asked as her shoulders shook with the effort not to laugh again.
“Can’t we get a doctor here instead?” I asked and that was it. My woman lost her shit as I stood there in pain and my heart fucking squeezed in my chest with how lucky I was. Even in my most painful, humiliating experience, I had the most beautiful woman in the world at my feet willing to love me anyway, even if she was laughing at my pain. It was worth it. Every fucking last thing we had been through, including the wax I regretted with all my heart. It was all worth it to see her laugh and feel carefree with me.
“For the record, it really bothers me to see you on that stage. More importantly, it bothers me for all those other men to see what’s mine.”
She sobered up slowly and stood so that she could place a kiss on my lips. “Then I will never do it again because I love you.”
“That’s all I wanted.” I groaned and clapped my hand on my ass cheeks. “It might be time to call that ambulance though.”
My beautiful woman nodded and called the fucking ambulance to come get me, but I didn’t even care because she was all mine and I was all hers, just the way it was supposed to be from the beginning. That was, however, the last time I would ever take advice from Rabbit and Charlie. Those assholes.
