Drax was presiding over the trial. He ordered silence in the room and called for three men from each of the MCs present as witnesses. When they spoke, it resulted in uproar from the crowd. In the end it was Mary-Beth and Mercy’s turns. They spoke passionately about all the shit that Eagle had caused. How he had affected their lives, what they had seen.
The end result was pretty obvious. He was guilty. There was no doubt about it. Drax hadn’t discussed the punishment with us yet, but we were all hoping for the same outcome - we wanted to see the motherfucker dead.
“I sentence him to life,” Drax commanded.
There was uproar in the clubhouse again. This was not what everyone wanted. I felt a wave of rage pass through me too. Sabrina looked up at me.
“What does that mean?” she asked.
“He will be a slave to us and the other MCs present here. He will serve time between each of our Clubs for the rest of his life and will have no rights or demands. He will be constantly watched.”
I could see the splash of relief on her face. She was probably the only one besides Eagle here who was relieved to hear the verdict. She didn’t want to be present when a man was sentenced to death.
I pulled her into my arms and held her close.
“The rest of your life is not going to be easy here, Sabrina. Eagle made it out easy but not everyone will. We have a pretty strict justice system here. We have rules.”
She nodded.
“I’m ready. I can do it. I’ll learn,” she replied and I had no choice but to kiss her. She was right, she would learn, and she would always have me there beside her.20SabrinaOne month later
We were standing in the middle of the foyer of the house. My old house. Cherie was working with the other staff and they were packing up everything. Spike was standing to the side, watching everything, keeping an eye on all of it. This felt like the old times when he used to follow me around the house everywhere.
“What are you going to do with all this stuff? You know there’s no room for it in my apartment,” he said when I went to him.
“I’m donating it. All of it. There’s a Women’s Aid organization that do good work and I know they can use the money,” I replied. I made the decision last night. “And I’m going to use the proceeds of the sale of the house to start my own business. A clothing line.”
This was a recent development too. I’d been thinking about the idea for a while and didn’t want to tell Spike until I had made the final decision. Now that I was with the MC and didn’t have to live with my father, I could do whatever I wanted. I knew I would have Spike’s support.
“Clothing line! That sounds fancy!”
“Nothing fancy. Just some inspirations I’ve had to merge high fashion with street wear.”
“Like a combination of you and Sophie?” he asked and we both smiled. Apart from Spike, she was the person I felt closest to in the world.
The last month had been a rollercoaster ride to say the least. I was formally and quickly inundated into the Iron Thunder MC. It took some getting used to. Spike had fully recovered from his injury so he was getting more heavily involved in the MC’s work. He was gone for long hours, often I didn’t know where.
The other girls at the clubhouse were my support system. I hung out with them at the bar, and it was Sophie who usually gave me the advice I needed.
Shit had hit the fan as far as Daddy was concerned.
When the news of his corruption and manipulations was released by the news agency online, he was quickly brought to trial and forced to step down from his post. The city was charging him with fraud and corruption. Evidence was being gathered, and he was due to appear in court in a few weeks. And it was all because of me. That was a hard pill to swallow, even though this was exactly what I wanted.
“Do you know what I thought of you that first night?” Spike asked. He had noticed I was lost in thought. I looked at him with a smile.
“I thought you were a rough biker dude who wouldn’t know how to behave himself around me. And I was right!” I exclaimed.
Spike slipped his arm around mine and started tugging me in the direction of the stairs.
“And I thought you were a spoiled brat, little precious daddy’s girl without any manners. I was right too,” he said and I hit him lightly on his arm.
As reaction to that, he swung me up in his arms, making me squeal with surprise. I wrapped my arm around his neck as he started climbing up the steps. I know exactly where we were going.
