“Okay, I’ll lay low.”

“Good. I’m going to have four guys with you at all times.”

“Four? Are you kidding me?” I shrieked.

“MB!” he scolded, and I shook my head at him. “Don’t shake your head at me like that, and for once, just do as you’re told. Will you?”

“Maybe.”

“You will!” he grunted.

I was about to reach for him. I wanted him to kiss me, but Drax was already walking away. He was expecting me to follow him. So, I did.

I just wanted this madness to be over. I wanted to be free again. I didn’t like the idea of being watched by four guys at all times, but if that was what it took to make this relationship work with Drax, then that’s what I would have to do.15DraxI couldn’t believe she’d done it again. Disobeyed strict orders to stay put at the fuckin’ Clubhouse. This woman was playing with fire and it was like she didn’t even know it. What kind of a saint did she think her brother was? The fact that she’d even made it to the store without being nabbed by the Silver Knights was a miracle.

And then we ended up having a big fat fight in the middle of the store’s grand reopening—drawing even more attention to ourselves. To her.

I’d sent four guys to watch over her. That idiot prospect was clearly not very great at his job. My only hope was that she didn’t manage to give them the slip too.

At the end of the day though, the store’s reopening was a success. We were back in business. The community was satisfied by our presence, the Iron Thunders still in power. Still in full operation. And now we had the store to front our back operations.

I was riding my bike to Teasers. Spike, Ghost and the rest of the MC were staking it out, waiting for the right opportunity for us to attack. I was sure Crash had heard about the store’s opening, and they wouldn’t be expecting us to attack now. Tonight was the perfect opportunity.

When I got there, my MC was gathered in Teasers’ parking lot.

“You were right,” Spike said when I walked up to them. “The bastards are in there getting drunk and trying to get laid. They think they’re going to have a quiet night in.”

“Maybe order some takeout,” Bolt added and a few of them laughed.

“Is Crash in there?” I asked.

“We saw him go in half an hour ago,” Ghost answered, and I nodded.

“Okay. Follow the plan. You guys go in there and evacuate the civilians. All the girls. The strippers. Bring them out here to the parking lot. I’ll find Crash.”

The guys nodded and thumped each other’s backs for luck.

I stayed back, watching while they stormed the strip club. Most of the Silver Knights were going to be in there but if we were in any luck, they’d be too drunk and disoriented to counter our attack in time.

Now all I had to do was wait till the battle had begun and then I could go in search of Crash and hoped he was alone.* * *I heard gunfire almost immediately. The Silver Knights were putting up a fight, but it wasn’t going to amount to much. Within minutes, I saw the horde of girls spilling out of the place. Most of them were nearly naked and in shiny, plasticky clothes. They came screaming out, panicking. Bolt was at the door with his gun pointed up to the sky. He was herding them out into the open space of the parking lot.

The others were inside, engaged in a shootout with the Silver Knights. This was my opportunity to go looking for Crash. I had a feeling he was in his office. I’d never been in his office before, but the logical thing would be that there was an entrance to it through the back of the building somewhere.

I ran behind the building with my weapon in hand. Inside, I could hear the screams of the girls, the music and the gunshots. There was a door that was partially open, and I went up to it.

It creaked when I pushed it open with my foot. I couldn’t see inside and was about to take a step in.

I heard the gunshot before I saw his face. It was too dark and then there was a stinging sensation on my side.

“Motherfucker” I hissed and fired my weapon. It was Eagle. Crash’s VP. He was lurking in the dark and had taken a shot at me. But I heard him curse and stumble back. I got him too.

The pain seared through my flesh, but I held my gun steady as I stepped toward him. My bullet caught his thigh, so he was limping as he moved back from me.

“Where is Crash?” I growled. My eyes were starting to adjust to the dark. I could see him clearly now, bleeding from his thigh. But probably, so was I. I didn’t have the time to look down and check.
