I was convinced Drax didn’t understand it. He thought he was doing the right thing by keeping me locked up and guarded in here—but all he was really doing was suffocating me. He had specifically asked me today to trust him, but what about trusting me?

When was he going to start trusting that I knew how to make my own decisions?

I wasn’t afraid of my brother anymore. So why was he?

I paced around in Drax’s room for some time. I wanted to give him time to leave and then I was going to sneak out of here and go to the store. Once I got there, Drax would see the reaction of his MC and of the community—he would see what I was talking about and everything would be alright.

All I had to do now was make sure the prospect who was following me around didn’t notice me leaving. But he must have realized Drax and I were having sex in here and he should leave us alone. He wasn’t going to expect me to defy Drax’s orders and sneak out.

Of course, I knew this could potentially start another fight between us, but I was willing to take the chance. I just wanted to show him that I knew what I was doing. That he had no need to keep me hidden away.

I trusted him and his powers and authority, but was sure that Crash wouldn’t be able to touch me or hurt me when I had the protection of the Iron Thunders. I wanted Drax to start believing in that too.

And today was just going to be the first step in that direction.* * *Just as I predicted, I was able to get out of the Clubhouse undetected. It seemed like the rest of the MC were too busy leaving for the store’s reopening to give a hoot about what I was up to in Drax’s room. Even the prospect who was supposed to be watching me seemed to have disappeared somewhere.

I managed to leave the premises and then get on a bus headed downtown. I just wanted to get to the store and knew everything would be okay.

On the bus, I kept a keen eye out, making sure I wasn’t being watched or followed by anyone. There were no MC members around. I wasn’t being followed by my brother’s goons as Drax predicted would happen.

I had a smile on my face the whole way downtown and wished Drax were here to see this. He was worried for me for no reason! Crash clearly had better things to do than to worry about me. He knew I had betrayed him. He knew now I was on the other side of the fence. What use was I going to be to him now? He could never flip me. He knew I would never be disloyal to Drax.

I got off the bus at the stop and then walked to the store.

A big crowd had gathered in the shopping center.

I had no idea Drax and his team had gone to such big efforts for the reopening. Clearly, they wanted to make an impression with the locals, and they also wanted to send a message to the Silver Knights that nothing was going to hold them back. They were going to bounce back bigger and better than before.

I watched the crowd and the store front from a distance, feeling proud. Not only was my man a good strong leader to his men, but he was a good businessman too. He knew exactly what to do to get everyone’s attention in the community.

Drax and Ghost, Spike and Bolt—they were all there. Cassie, Allegra, Sophie and some of the other girls were there too. It was a big celebration. Free goodie bags were being passed around to people who came up to the store, and expensive security monitors were being handed over for free to get more attention. I could see huge attractive signs for sales and discounts; they had already managed to create a buzz around the reopening. I knew this would get Crash’s attention and he was not going to be happy about how successful this event was.

I felt a shiver of excitement. This was exactly what I wanted. I was going to walk up to Drax now and kiss him. I was going to make sure everyone saw me support my man. Not only the community, but the other members of Iron Thunder too.

Maybe then, they would realize they had no reason to mistrust me. That I had already made my decision and my loyalty lay with Drax.* * *I slowly made my way through the crowd. Drax and Ghost were standing near the door, having a conversation. Sophie and Allegra were handing out coupons to some shoppers who had walked over to them. I loved the buzz in the air and wanted to be a part of it.
