After all, wasn’t this the reason why he came here? To find some peace?
Flash looked over at me and I smiled coyly.
“We have to get back on the road. They’ll be waiting for us,” he said. I nodded, but I didn’t want to go. I wanted to stay out here with him forever. I could feel a change coming over me and didn’t know how to explain what I was feeling. Not even to myself.7FlashThis was not the way I had intended to return to our Clubhouse. Not only was our ride cut short, but I had a chick with me. A chick who I practically knew nothing about except the fact that she made me pant with thirst every time I looked in her direction.
We arrived at Fifth Gear, the bar which was also our MC Clubhouse. I knew the others had already gathered there since Drax called for Church. Allegra looked curiously about her as I parked my bike.
Our time by the old creek was already beginning to seem like a distant memory now. Nothing else mattered other than protecting the Club and our territory.
I knew we shouldn’t have gone on this ride. We shouldn’t have left all our territory in the hands of a bunch of prospects and fresh recruits. Bolt was the only officer who was left in charge and it was too much for one guy to handle.
I nodded at Allegra as we walked toward the Clubhouse.
“Wait, Flash,” she said abruptly, making me stop in my tracks. “What happens from here?”
“I don’t know right now. I don’t have a plan, but I will figure something out. First things first. I need to talk to the other guys and find out what’s happening with our MC and this stupid war that’s started.”
She gulped and nodded. Fair enough; she wanted to know what the future held for her, but other than keeping her safe, I didn’t know what I was going to do with her.
Besides, there was no way I was letting her go till I had her in my bed. Fucked her the way I wanted to from the first moment I laid eyes on her.
I stepped toward the door again and she followed me.
Fifth Gear was reeking of chaos. From what I could see, most outsiders had been banished from the place. I couldn’t even see the non-member regulars around. Except for one odd factor that I wasn’t expecting to see—
There were chicks everywhere. Girls in skimpy clothes who I’d never seen before. Who the fuck were they and what were they all doing here? What were the guys up to while the rest of us were away? Was Bolt even keeping an eye on them? Had they been partying and fucking this whole time?
I looked to my side and could see the surprise in Allegra’s eyes too. She’d walked into our Clubhouse for the first time and was bombarded by all these women. She probably thought this was what we were about all the time. I wanted to explain myself to her, but then figured it wasn’t needed. I didn’t actually owe her an explanation.
“Come with me,” I said loudly over the music. She followed me through the bar and to the back where I knew I’d find Sophie.
She was sitting on a tower of beer crates, drinking a can. Cassie was with her. When we walked in, they looked over at us and I saw the surprise on both their faces. Sophie even looked suspicious. They weren’t expecting me to bring a girl back with me.
“This is Allegra. She’s going to hang with you guys for a while,” I said.
Sophie looked her up and down. I could see her eyes narrowing and then she turned to me. She had a million questions in her head. I could see. The first one being—are you fucking her?
“I need to get to church,” I said quickly before Sophie could ask me anything. “I’ll be back to get you. These girls will look after you till then,” I said to Allegra. She looked a little unsure of her surroundings but she said nothing.
I left the girls behind as I walked out of the room. At least Cassie was someone I could rely on to make Allegra feel comfortable. She was pretty much just as new to our world.
I found the others in the common room. Bolt gave me a nod when I walked in. Drax had already started the meeting.
“Do we have footage of this attack?” he asked Bolt.
“We did but I erased it before the cops got there. They would have confiscated it and I didn’t want them on the trail. We need to keep it between us. This is our business,” Bolt replied. The others nodded.
“So what the fuck do they want?” Ghost asked.
“They’re sending us a message. Attacking our store was just the tip of the iceberg. They want us to prepare ourselves,” I said.
