“Send some guy over to my apartment. There’s a chick in my bed. I need her gone from my place,” I said. I didn’t need her waiting for me or playing house. I didn’t intend on returning to the apartment soon.
“Cool. Yeah, I will.”
“I need to go find Drax,” I said.
“He’s in the kitchen. Pissed off, obviously.”
I nodded. I was about to walk away, and Spike stopped me again.
“Remember, I’m next in line,” he said.
I didn’t reply and made my way to the kitchen. Whatever the reason was, I didn’t want to hear the others speak of Cassie like she was just a piece of meat. There was something about her that set her apart from everyone else. But I didn’t want to think about what that could be. It had to be my cock talking.
Drax was in the kitchen, just like Spike said he would be. Some of the girls who usually hung around Drax were there as usual. Pouring drinks, stroking his hair, taking care of him while he sulked.
“She’s his sister,” I told him when I entered the room.
“Huh? What? Who?” Drax turned to me, drink in hand.
“The girl I locked up in your office.”
“Yeah. Her. Right. Just deal with her.”
I didn’t want to tell him how Cassie had threatened us with cops. Drax had too much on his plate already.
“Ya, I’m taking care of that problem,” I said.
Drax nodded as he sat down. One of the girls took her place on his right leg and he placed a hand on her back, stroking her gently.
“This means fuckin’ war. We have to get the shipment back from the Silver Knights, and they aren’t going to be happy about it.”
I nodded. This was exactly what I was thinking. We couldn’t just write off a hundred thousand dollars’ worth of shipment. We had our own deals and contracts that needed to be honored.
“This kid has really done us in,” Drax continued, shaking his head.
“We should discuss it with the rest of the club in detail.”
“Yes. Tomorrow. One of you has to come up with a good plan out of this.”
“Call Church tomorrow.”
Drax nodded. The girl on his lap leaned into him and whispered something in his ear. He drew in a deep breath and started to stand up.
“But tonight, I’m going to hit the sack and try and get some sleep. You should too. We’re probably not getting any sleep after tomorrow.”
“Any opinion on what should be done with the sister?” I asked.
He barely even looked at me now.
“No, I don’t give a fuck. Frankly, don’t give a fuck what happens to the kid either. I just want him out of my sight. The fucker. And I want my shipment back.”
I gave him a nod and walked out of the kitchen again.
Now that I had Drax’s approval to deal with Cassie the way I thought fit, nobody else would be able to object to me keeping her locked in the bedroom upstairs where I could keep an eye on her.
I didn’t exactly have a plan yet. All I knew was I had to keep her away from the cops till this thing had blown over. Right now, if the cops came after us, they’d end up blowing up our plans of getting the shipment back. In a few weeks’ time, once this war was over, they wouldn’t find anything. We’d be able to fight them back. Cassie could go ahead and lodge as many complaints with them as she liked.
Hopefully, in a few weeks, this would all be over.6CassieOnce Bolt left the room, leaving me alone and having robbed me of my cellphone, I knew immediately how stupid I’d been.
I was so desperate to save Chip, but shouldn’t have opened my big mouth. Why did I threaten him with cops? Why did I make him think I would betray the Club? Maybe what I should’ve done was played nice. Seduced him? Done something to bring him over to my side.
Have him eating out of my hand.
But this guy despised me now. He viewed me as someone dangerous. Someone he needed to keep locked up.
I felt helpless. I wanted to cry. I still didn’t know what they were doing with Chip out there. So I banged my fists on the door, screaming for help even though I knew there was nobody coming. The only people able to hear my screams were the members of this MC, and none of them were going to let me out.
Bolt hadn’t returned, and a part of me wished he had. At least when he was here, I didn’t feel so lonely. Was he going to leave me by myself the whole night? I’d go crazy.
I looked around the room in desperation. This ‘office’ had nothing in it. The filing cabinets were locked. The desk had one drawer with nothing but a letter opener in there. I slipped it into my back pocket. Since Bolt had checked me already, maybe he wouldn’t check me again? It was my only hope.
