“I can’t let go of you until you promise to stay still,” I said as calmly as possible.

“I won’t promise you anything. You’ll get nothing from me. I’ll kick and scream till the last moment!”

I still had her pinned up to me and in the short time she was in my arms, I’d gotten to know her pretty well. Intimately. I knew exactly what her body felt like against mine. She had all the curves in the right places. She had plump luscious lips and big green eyes. Her hair was golden, shining like silk. My hands had brushed her generous breasts mistakenly, although I would’ve happily done it again if the circumstances were different.

Everything about this girl screamed temptation.

And yet, I didn’t even know who she was.

“Kick and scream all you want but it won’t get you anywhere. Instead, maybe we can have a rational discussion. You know, converse like adults?” I continued to speak, and she continued to kick.

She had energy, I gave her that, but she was no match for my strength. She wasn’t going to tire me out if that’s what she was trying to do.

She kicked and flailed a little more and eventually, she slumped. I felt her body relax and she grew quiet.

“That’s a good girl,” I said.

“I’m not looking for your approval!”

“Well you have it. In fact, if you promise to behave yourself, I might even let you go.”

She fell silent for a few moments, like she was considering my suggestion. Then she sighed and nodded.

“I need to hear it, Cassie,” I said. I was grateful Chip had at least given her name away.

“Fine. We can talk. I’ll stop screaming now,” she said in a low voice.

I loosened my grip on her and she slid away from me. She jumped across the room and whipped around to face me.

I was looking into those gorgeous green eyes again, and for a split-second, she had me mesmerized. But then I caught myself and clenched my fists. I needed to maintain my position of power. The last thing I needed was for her to think she had any kind of hold over me.

Besides, maybe she was Chip’s girl. Maybe she belonged to the Silver Knights. Maybe she was the fuckin’ reason he’d betrayed us in the first place.

Cassie was studying me too, her eyes roaming over me with a look like she’d never seen a man before, or maybe not a man like me.

I stood in front of her with my feet planted firmly apart. I crossed my arms over my chest. I could relax a little now; she wasn’t going anywhere. The door was locked, and she wouldn’t be able to get out of this room unless I purposely set her free.

“Wanna start by telling me what the fuck’s going on, Cassie?” I said.

Her nostrils flared in anger.

“Don’t use my name like you know me. You know nothing about me,” she snapped. I grinned. It was the pettiest issue she could’ve picked on.

“Fine, you shall remain nameless in that case. But I still need to know what you’re doing here. Who sent you here?”

She narrowed her eyes in confusion.

“Sent me here? Nobody sent me here. I came here of my volition. I knew Chip was in trouble and I wanted to help him.”

So I was right all along. She was Chip’s girl.

“Are you in the Silver Knights?” I grunted. What would I do if I was in Chip’s place? Would I betray the MC for this piece of ass? It annoyed me because I didn’t have an answer. She was sexy. Very, very fuckin’ sexy. Would one night with her be worth a lifetime of damnation?

“Silver who?” she asked, snapping me out of my thoughts.

“If you’re trying to play dumb, it’s not going to work.” I took one threatening step in her direction. She tipped her head back to look up at me.

“No idea what or who you’re talking about.”

I was standing closer to her now, could see straight into her clear green eyes. I pictured her underneath me, naked, her legs spread apart so I could take possession of her. Did it matter if Chip had her already? This girl was driving me fuckin’ nuts.

“Who the fuck are you then? You better give me a clear answer now.”

Cassie gulped and then licked her lips.

“I’m Chip’s sister. His little sister. I don’t want anything happening to him,” she answered. It came like a punch to the gut. I didn’t know Chip had a sister. This was possibly the worst answer she could’ve given me. “Can you please let me out now? I need to speak to my brother, please?”

All I could do was stare at Cassie. How was I supposed to let her out? I knew exactly what was going to happen to her brother tonight. The MC wasn’t about to let him off the hook just because his little sister showed up out of the blue.
