Warren sighed and closed his eyes for a moment, and then nodded. “I’ll step down and move.”
Roland nodded.
“It will take me a few weeks to move, though,” Warren said.
“That’s fine. You have two weeks but no more.”
Without another word, he turned and walked out of his father’s office. When he made it to his room, he closed the door and leaned against it, fighting to beat back the fury that still raced through him.

The next few weeks flew by, and he was finally able to say goodbye to his father as he left.
As he stood outside the front door watching the vehicle that held his father, he felt small arms wrap around her waist, and Laila’s body pressed against his back.
He covered her hands with his before he turned and pulled her against his body.
“How is my wife this morning?” he asked. Stacey still came a few times a week, and it made a big difference. He also liked the fact that they had become friends.
She smiled at him. “Good.” Her smile slipped. “Are you sure you’re okay with your father moving? It doesn’t have anything to do with me, does it?”
Roland smiled gently and pressed a kiss to her forehead. “I am more than okay. He’s wanted to move South for a while. Florida has a lot of golf courses. More than we have here, and that’s all he likes to do. And as for your second question, you absolutely do not have anything to do with him leaving. He’s technically been retired for a few years but wanted to keep the CEO title.”
Her smile brightened again. “So, Mr. CEO, do you have a little time to spend with your wife?”
He chuckled. “I’ll always make time for you. The thought of leaning you over my desk and fucking your ass makes me crazy, but now that the baby has grown, I’m afraid it might hurt you. But the soft bed we have upstairs would work.”
She giggled when he lifted her and walked up the stairs.
When the bedroom door closed behind them, he released the last of the tension that had plagued him since Laila came to him.
Now, he could concentrate on his sweet wife and soon-to-be child, and that’s the way it should be.
