I didn’t have time for her theatrics. “Yes, you will fight. After you make sure my people are safe! Now, go!”

She ran away so fast, my hair blew sideways. I made my way to the gate to see the enemy army Victor Dantone had sent. Running up the spiral staircase to the wall’s top, I glanced out over the surrounding land. Not a speck of earth could be seen through the bright white of glowing suits. There were thousands of them, and yet only one.

Because each of the enemy soldiers looked exactly like Eve.

A scream tore from someone inside the castle. Then another. And another.

A woman ran out, clutching her baby to her chest. “They’re already inside!” she screeched. “Help us, Lord Enoch! Please!”
