“I want you to tell me something, Sophia,” Leonid suddenly says, standing over me.

“What?” I gulp, already lost in his warm shadow.

“I want you to tell me what’s wrong with me.”

The question catches me off guard. So much so that a laugh slips from my lips.

“Really?” I ask, hardly able to hold a sarcastic smile from coming over my face.

“Yes.”

Grabbing one of the bedsheets, I wrap it around my wrist and hold it against my stomach.

“Well, for one. You’re arrogant…” I start, already searching for more words to describe what I don’t like about his man… or do I like his arrogance?

It’s hard to tell anymore. I’m so turned upside down.

“I meant physically,” Leonid corrects.

“Physically?”

“That’s right.”

“Well, I guess your limp…” I start.

But Leonid shakes his head at me. “No. That doesn’t count anymore. I had to tell you about that. There are other injuries I’ve been plagued with because of that car bomb… I want you to guess what’s wrong with me.”

“The scars…” I start.

But Leonid stops me again.

“No. Those don’t make me a cripple.”

“You’re not a cripple.”

“Yes, I am. Now, tell me what’s wrong with me,” he orders, raising his voice.

I raise mine to match him.

“Unfortunately, there’s nothing fucking wrong with you!” I shout. I’m about to stand up, but the second I flex the muscles in my legs they give out on me. I’m too sore from Leonid fucking me to stand.

Shit. I just lost my virginity…

It’s hardly hit me yet. And Leonid seems intent on keeping me distracted.

“I’m your type, then?” Leonid asks, a small smirk exposing those fucking dimples.

Even through the soreness in my legs, I can feel the butterflies taking off in my gut. My heart flutters quickly behind them.

“That’s the fucking problem,” I say, repeating the words he said to me just before giving me my first ever kiss.

Dipping his head, Leonid runs a hand through his wavy blonde hair, then looks up at me with those heart-stopping blue eyes.

“Maybe we should have gotten married after all.”

Before I can respond, he turns around and starts for the door, still butt naked.

“Maeve, close your eyes. I’m not decent,” he shouts, as he steps into the hallway.
