Slowly, a calmness washes over his busy face.
“… I understand,” he says. “As long as there are no strings attached, I will get this shit done.”
“No strings attached,” Aiden assures him.
It only takes a little while longer for the calmness on Ray’s face to fade. In its place appears a devilish smirk. He’s clearly trying to hold it back, but it proves to be an impossible task for him.
“Whatever I want…” he mumbles again.
“You can even take the girl, if you want,” Shane taunts.
“I’m not taking anyone,” Ray barks back.
“Do whatever you have to,” Aiden growls.
With a suddenly steady pace, Ray’s shimmering black eyes work their way around the room. It’s like he’s carefully studying each man here, just to make sure everyone is really on board.
He must see that everyone is, because finally, he shrugs, and that devilish smirk takes over his rugged face. He’s not even hiding it anymore.
“…Well, if you insist…” he smiles. Looking off into the distance, his gaze fills with ill-intent, “Then I might take the girl, after all—you know… just to be safe.”
