All of a sudden, a rush of emotion comes over me. I feel tears spill out and down my cheeks. I attempt to stifle a sob, but it slips out anyway.

“What’s wrong, Snowflake?” Atlis sits up and brushes the hair out of my face. When I can’t answer, he asks me again. “Zolina. What’s going on?”

All I can do is wrap my arms around his neck and softly cry into him. He immediately hugs his arms around my waist and lifts me up enough to lay me down on my back. He slides his hand underneath my head and grips it in a way that lets me know he never wants to let me go.

Slowly raising his head enough to look me in the eye, the man I have come to love kisses me tenderly on the lips before speaking again. “Zolina, are you okay?” My only response to him is to kiss him again. I know that he hasn’t had his release, and after all the orgasms he’s given me, letting him have one is the least I can do.

Finally getting my composure, I whisper in his ear, “I love you so much. I’ve been waiting for this moment forever. I need to tell you what happened. What they did to me. I just… I don’t think I’m ready to say anything yet. I’m just not ready.”

I feel his hot breath on my face as he looks down at me with the most amazed look in his eye. “That’s perfectly okay, Zolina. I’m not going anywhere. I will be here forever, and I will never let you go again. I will stay beside you for the rest of our lives, and maybe one day you will tell me. But even if you don't, I will worship you, love you, cherish you, and have you as my wife. I love you.”

I silently nod and proceed to kiss him, this time with more passion. “I love you, too. But now, I want you to come for me.” I grip his sides and pull him as close to my body as humanly possible, allowing us to move as one.

“I’m so fucking in love with you, Zolina,” Atlis speaks to me before I feel him push in and out of me until his warm cum fills my pussy. My legs wrap around his waist, and my hands travel up to his upper back as we groan in unison.

As we both come down, catching our breath and laying there together, we hold each other. Holding the person neither of us can live without.

We found love in the strangest predicament. Bound to each other by a twisted game. A promise of a princess.

Epilogue

Atlis

“Did you get it?”

“Yes, JD. I got it. You think she’ll be surprised?” I ask her, smiling and holding it out for her to see.

“Uhm, if she isn’t, I’ll kick her ass for you,” she laughs as she turns to get into the car.

“No ass-kicking, at least not hers.”

“Yes, Atlis. I promise I'll be on my best behavior.”

I tuck the box into my suit pocket before cranking the engine and taking off towards Noir Sands Beach. The drive over is quiet, and my nerves are on high alert. This has to go perfectly; I don’t want to fuck up like I did the last time.

As we pull into the parking lot of the beach, I see her. My wife. The breeze picks up right as my eyes find her, throwing her hair behind her in gorgeous waves. I can’t wait to see what she smells like now. Her cashmere vanilla scent with the ocean spray. If I could bottle up the smell, I would in a heartbeat.

Getting out of the car quietly, I stand up and fix my tie.

Breathe.

Walk to her.

Get down on one knee.

“Zolina Lee Connors,” I announce myself to her, hoping to grab her attention.

She spins around, clutching her chest because I startled her. “Atlis, what are you-” she freezes mid-sentence.

“I know I didn’t do this before. I know that our whole relationship has been built on the power trip of a crazy person. I want to do this correctly. I want to have a fresh start without all the drama and theatrics.”

“Go on then,” she replies, smiling and batting her eyes.

JD, Jacob, and Harris laugh in the background. The guys were already here, guarding my little Snowflake while she dipped her toes in the sand. A plan I had set up, and she fell for it. Get her to the beach, without me or JD, and let her think it was her idea.

“Zolina, you have been a pain in my ass. A thorn in my side. However, I don’t want to spend any more of my life without you. I crave the blood you draw with your thorns, the pain you give me just from your beauty alone. It’s us against the rest of the world. You are a bright light in a dark room, and I am the moth drawn to you. Always have been and always will be. Will you marry me? Properly?”

“Yes, Atlis, you dumbass. You already know the answer is yes,” she squeals.

“Thank fuck!” JD yells from behind us. “I can’t wait to have a proper wedding.”

All five of us start laughing as I stand and slip the new ring on her finger. “Come here, wife. Kiss your husband.”

She wraps her hands around my neck, slipping her fingers into my slowly growing out hair and pulling me to her. As soon as my lips land on hers, I know that my father made the right choice when I was a child. The memory of what I said that day filters through my head.

“Thank you, sir. It’s okay,” I reply. I know better than to argue. It’s easier to agree with him now than to get my ass whooped later.

Disagreeing with Zolina in the future may sometimes get my ass kicked, but–

I will always be thankful for the promise that gave me a princess.
