A few days before Valentine’s Day, sailor Jonathan Lawrence—Law to his friends—arrives in small town California for a weekend shore leave.

Despite all the romance in the air, Law doesn’t expect to find anything that will ease his restless heart. As an orphan, his only home is the sea. As a sailor on a navy ship, he doesn’t have time for long-term relationships. Or so he thinks, until he meets Piper Ryan, a woman unlike any other he’s ever met.
It’s the weekend before Valentine’s Day and Piper Ryan, a quirky free spirit, doesn’t have a single romantic prospect.
Her love life is lackluster and once again, she’ll be spending Valentine’s Day alone. But then, she meets Jonathan Lawrence, a gorgeous sailor who seems inexplicably smitten with her. Smitten enough to want to spend his shore leave getting to know her. What starts off casual heats up – fast. Falling for a stranger in the span of a weekend is crazy, but Piper can’t help her growing feelings for Law. Feelings that will have to be temporary because Law is leaving town on Valentine’s Day.
