Sobek’s Joy

I don’t need that shit in my life. This is all I need. Peace and quiet. Solitude. Just water, silence, and the slow passage of time.

Sobek, Egyptian God of Crocodiles and the Nile among other things, likes his peaceful life. He travels, collects antiques and goes where the winds or water takes him. Until the waters took him to a small pond in rural Louisiana and he comes across three unusual children invading the privacy of his pond… shifter children. No matter how many times he told himself that the children weren’t his concern, when he finally meets their guardian, Sobek’s perspective changes completely.

A tall, dark mysterious stranger appears at your door…

The only connection Rudy Crisp, regular human, had to the paranormal world was in his love of the romance stories he read after the children had gone to bed. Sure, his small found family might have some quirks – the odd flash of hair, fur, and scales, but that was just kids being kids, right? Rudy didn’t judge and he refused to let anyone insult his kids either. So when a tall, dark stranger returns his kids, after their excursion to a neighbor’s pond, Rudy wasn’t going to listen when that man started spouting nonsense about shifters. Clearly the sexy hunk had hit his head recently.

“Sometimes people just need reminding that they’re okay.”

Realizing he has no choice, Sobek sets out to win Rudy’s trust – a trust earned through house repairs and spending time with the kids, all while trying to work out how to approach that delicate “paranormals are real, and you’re my mate” conversation. But when one of the children gets deathly ill, Sobek realizes he’s run out of time. Will Rudy accept he’s actually part of his own paranormal romance story, or will he take the kids and run?

Sobek’s Joy is a standalone, MM paranormal romance story between an ancient god and a clueless human. If themes of acceptance, found family, and finding ways to fix the plumbing without magic warm your heart, then this one could be for you. This book is intended for adults.
