Sobek, Egyptian God of Crocodiles and the Nile among other things, likes his peaceful life. He travels, collects antiques and goes where the winds or water takes him. Until the waters took him to a small pond in rural Louisiana and he comes across three unusual children invading the privacy of his pond… shifter children. No matter how many times he told himself that the children weren’t his concern, when he finally meets their guardian, Sobek’s perspective changes completely.

The only connection Rudy Crisp, regular human, had to the paranormal world was in his love of the romance stories he read after the children had gone to bed. Sure, his small found family might have some quirks – the odd flash of hair, fur, and scales, but that was just kids being kids, right? Rudy didn’t judge and he refused to let anyone insult his kids either.
